THE FIRST NOEL
The working title of this collection of Christmas songs was called "Christmas II" for a while mainly because it was my second Christmas CD. I then decided to name it after the heart felt arrangement of "The First Noel" which seemed to fit just right! Featuring the vocals of a good friend and collaborator, R&B singer "Joaquin", this CD covers a lot of ground stylistically from various musical influences of Jazz, Pop, R&B, Brazilian, Smooth Jazz, Flemenco and Classical. Sorry no rock guitar. Maybe on the next one… There’s some upbeat and jazzy toe tappin standards here like "Home for the Holidays" "Winter Wonderland" and a few new Pop Christmas songs like "Let It Snow" originally performed by the Backstreet Boys and a rendition of Natalie Cole’s version of "My Grown-up Christmas List". Ending the collection is the lyrical and ever popular holiday classical piece J.S.
Bach’s "Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring.
